The Lang Company Silver Jewelry uses different styles of fire polished beads, vintage glass and crystal beads in our jewelry. Lead will make the beads very reflective while lead free glass has a more plain, less sparkly look.
Czech Glass Beads
TLC Silver Jewelry uses lots of Czech glass beads in our vaseline glass and other handmade bead jewelry. Except for a very few colors Czech glass beads are lead free. Here's an excerpt from their lead content statement:
Product certificate according to the PN 0860 Industrial Standard and the PN 0800-PN082 materials standards with exception of beads made of glass cane with the unique identifying numbers of 71000* and 71010*, none of the Fire Polished or Pressed Bead colors contain lead and/or lead oxide.
* These products are acceptable for use in retail jewelry. The Czech glass cane that the beads are made from contains lead oxide, which does not cause the same health concerns as metallic lead.
