Amber
Much of the amber found in the world in 30 to 90 million years old. Even though amber is used in jewelry it is not a gemstone, it is a "fossil resin". Sometimes organic or animal matter like insects, feather, plant and flowers can be seen in amber. The majority of amber is found in Russia. It can be found in open pit or underground mines and even lying on the beach. It has been fished out of the sea for generations with fishing nets. Amber has a hardness of 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale and is very delicate. You should only use soap, water and a soft cloth to clean amber.
