What Size Bracelet Do You Wear?
Since bracelets fit differently depending on what type clasp and beads are used it can help a lot to know your wrist size when ordering jewelry online.
All of our bracelets have been measured with the Easy Bracelet Sizer. If your wrist measures 6" around you should be able to wear any of the bracelets 6 1/4" and larger depending on how loose you like them to fit. If your wrist measures 6 1/2" around you would be able to choose from bracelets that measure 6 3/4" and larger.
How To Measure Your Wrist
You can use a flexible tape measure to measure your wrist where you would wear a watch. If you don't have a flexible tape you can use a string or ribbon. When you have the measurement you can add 1/2" to 1" to that number depending on how loose you like your bracelets to fit.
Measuring A Bracelet For A Gift
If you want to give a bracelet as a gift there are several ways you can get the recipients size. You can measure their watch or snug fitting bracelets they have. You might get a family member or friend to do the measuring for you. Or you could get them into a conversation about jewelry and get them to freely tell you their size.
There's A Necklace For Every Occasion
With necklaces even though knowing your neck size is helpful it is more about the "what" and "when". "What" is the clothing (style and color) you are going to wear. "When" is the event you are attending whether it is work, a party, or simply visiting with friends.
Beads come in a variety of sizes and can change the "true" length of a necklace. When we design our necklaces at The Lang Company Silver Jewelry we use the Easy Necklace Sizer to measure them. So if the description says the necklace length is "18 inches" the necklace should lay similar to one of your own 18" necklaces.
How To Measure Your Neck
The process of measuring your neck size is very similar to measuring your wrist. You need a flexible tape measure, strip of cloth or ribbon. Take that and measure around the base of your neck. If your neck measures 15" you would want at least the next size up which would be 17" to 19" long.
Our Typical Necklace Lengths
There are a variety of necklace lengths. At The Lang Company Silver Jewelry our necklaces typically range from 16" to 24" long. Below is a list of necklace styles in this size range and what type neckline they are usually worn with.
Choker
The choker necklace is usually 14" to 16" in length and lies nicely on the base of the neck. A great choker paired with a beautiful evening dress will make you feel like the belle of the ball. You could also wear a gemstone choker with a business suit for a classic look.
Princess
The princess length is probably the most common size of necklaces measuring from 17" to 19" long. This length will compliment those lower neckline garments.
Matinee
The matinee length necklace really stands out because of it length (20" to 24") when worn with high neck shirts and dresses.
